Founded in 2006, Cycleways began with Matt, whose childhood in rural Australia was shaped by riding with mates and working in a local bike shop. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong love of cycling.
After moving to Ōtautahi Christchurch, Matt noticed a real need for a service‑focused bike shop—a place where riders could trust the people working on their bikes. So he rolled up his sleeves and got to work.
Cycleways started as a small workshop with a modest retail space. Matt spent countless late nights fixing bikes, solving problems, and helping riders find the perfect fit.
